Hot Water Rebates
Water heating using standard electric hot water heaters is the largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions from Australian homes and accounts for almost 30% per cent of home energy use.The Australian Government is is providing a financial incentive for Australian households to install environmentally friendly hot water systems. Rebates are available to eligible households when a solar or heat pump hot water system is installed. Different eligibility criteria exists, depending on the rebate being applied for.
The rebate for five star (or higher) gas hot water systems is $300. The rebate for solar and heat pump hot water systems is based on the efficiency of the system, determined by the eligibility of your systems for Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
This program offers Renewable Energy & Government Rebates of up to $4,400! These RECs / rebates can be claimed in 3 ways:
- Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) - RECs are an electronic form of currency established to promote renewable energy generation. Read More about RECs
